Purchase of Real Estate in Armenia (for foreigners)

In Armenia tourism is growing year by year. Tourists come to Armenia  from neighbor republics, also armenians from United States, Canada, European countries, as well as foreigners are willing to spend their  holidays in a country of  ancient culture and history.

A visit to Armenia is really worthy. Even just walking around the cities of the ancient country, you can feel its history at every turn. Walking in Yerevan, for example, the capital of Armenia, which, in comparison with Rome is older for 30 years, you can read the letters written from the V-VI centuries, preserved in the Matenadaran, visit various museums, aqua parks, try Armenian cuisine and relax in the countryside, enjoying the unique nature of Armenia.

But I every year coming to the ancient country, many guests want to buy real estate in Armenia, which is much cheaper than staying in a hotel or rent an apartment in, in this case we will give you some tips how to buy real estate in Armenia.

According to the Law of Armenia, an alien may not become the owner / proprietor of the land. However, a foreigner can become a legal tenant of property in Armenia, or simply buy / purchase a house.

As a rule the entire registration process of buying real estate in Armenia takes up to a week. For the beginning, you need to have your passport translated to Armenian as this is the form required by the Real Estate Cadastre. In addition, a copy of the passport certified by a notary is also mandatory for the document to get a legitimate form.

Together with the seller you should go to the notary and the notary must be present to give the seller the full amount for the property, as well as making a purchase contract for the sale of real estate. After all procedures, your purchase is made in the real estate cadastre, and you become the owner of real estate in Armenia.
